General FAQ
Q : The tracer wont trace anything i only get "Unknown", whats wrong?
A : This problem occurs when you are behind a firewall that don't allow
the "tracer route" to resolve IP names. Please contact your system administrator about this issue.
This can also happen if your DNS server is not functioning properly.
Q : I don't like the sound effects, can i change them?
A : You may replace the wav-files in the "snd"-directory in AET Tracers home directory.
They all have explaining names so they are easy to identify and replace.
Q : Can i add my own whois servers?
A : Yes you can. You may add a new line representing a whois server to the file
"whoissettings.data" in the "settings"-directory in AET Tracers home directory.
The new line must be the complete url to the whois servers web query. You have to replace the
acctual query with the character "$".
However, it is really important that you do not alter the first four servers ARIN, RIPE, APNIC and LACNIC.
Please don't do this if you dont know what you are doing and if you do, be sure to make a backup
copy of the "whoissettings.data"-file.
AET Tracer PRO FAQ
Q : I have tampered with the settings files and now i can't start the program or it does not function properly.
A : You should never edit the settings files by hand. But if you have and the program malfunctions
you can use the "Restore system defaults" program. This application can be found at the same place where
you installed AET Tracer PRO.
Q : Why is the installation file so big (~12 Mb)?
A : This is simply because the software is programmed in the JAVA language.
To be able to distribute AET Tracer to all diffrent users the Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) has to be included in the package.
Unpacked the whole bundle will take about 32 Mb of hard drive space.

Q : Why is the installation file so big (~10 Mb)?
A : This is simply because the software is programmed in the JAVA language.
To be able to distribute AET Tracer to all diffrent users the Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) has to be included in the package.
Unpacked the whole bundle will take about 32 Mb of hard drive space.
Q : If i buy AET Tracer Lite now will there be any discounts when purcasing the AET Tracer Pro version?
A : Yes, there will be a 50% discount for already registered users of AET Tracer Lite.
